A strong parent-child relationship plays an important role in developing a child's mental health. Many parents attempt to give the best of themselves to their children. They always make sure they fill their closets with toys, give them enough candy and buy whatever they want. However, what most modern parents cannot give to their children is their time. Whether you're a millionaire or a billionaire, you're always going to be a mother or a father to your children. They construct their understanding of you not from the material things you give them, but by the way you love them, be with them and spend your time with them.




Especially, adolescence can be an additional challenge, as children themselves face many biological changes. If you do not help them, support them and be with them at the right time, many things may go wrong in their lives.


  • Encourage them to talk about their feelings.

This can be a challenging period for your children. Sometimes they may hesitate to share their feelings with you if you try to be authoritarian and ignore them. You should always encourage them to share their feelings. You can easily invite them to do tasks like making lunch and have a small conversation while you are engaged in the task. When you are friendly and welcoming, they feel quite open and relaxed with you. this interaction allows you to better understand what happens in the life of your child.


  • Take some time and support them.

Teenage children need freedom. So don't try to be a manipulator and curious. Let them have their time and when they feel the need to be with you, make them feel just as at home. You can help relieve their stress by taking them outside. If they are experiencing difficulties in the academic, you can assist them yourself or choose another option after consulting them. Always be sure to value their opinions and make them feel that they are also important. 


  • Working together to resolve conflicts.

At times, your child may be bothering you. You will easily be upset because of how they talk, dress or try to behave. But always take a deep breath and leave. You can come back and solve the situation when you are calm and in a good way. Do not attempt to preach to your children, but talk to them as true adults. You need to let them know that you are in difficult situations as well and that you both need to understand and help each other. When you give them enough authority, they naturally feel responsible and try to deal with it.


  • Take care of yourselves.

One of the best ways you can help your children is by example. Then you take care of yourself. If you feel stressed and lack motivation for the day, look for healthy coping mechanisms. When you manage your problems correctly, your children also learn from looking at you. which would help them to make their lives better.
